“Meredith Aleigha Wells employed superb technique as Artemis, skillfully conveying complicated plot points (both spoken and sung) with energy and clarity. Her movement and choreography were active and fun, proving just how full of life and motion her character was, disability and all.”

Only 6 more chances to see yours truly at the Kennedy Center! I can’t believe how fast this run has flown by.
March 4th was my 10th Life Day, which for my non-disabled/wheelchair friends, means I’ve been living with a chronic illness for a decade. 10 years ago, I didn’t know how I would pursue this career with this new diagnosis, I just knew I had to or I’d never be happy. Now, on the tenth anniversary of that diagnosis, I’m performing originating the role of an unlikely hero - a badass disabled teen who’s uniquely positioned to adapt to a natural disaster not despite their disability but because of it, which feels…right.
It’s also been a joy to perform this show for many first-time theatre-goers. I started performing in middle school so to be doing all these student matinees for that age group is an opportunity I don’t take lightly. Knowing that my performance could change the trajectory of one of these kids’ lives in the way it changed mine, makes it all worth it.
Love,
Mer
